Palm Sunday

I know my blog posts have been few and far between.  I don't really know why ~
but we are still here and enjoying every day!

We had a beautiful Easter this year.  Since our move to Texas we have gotten in the habit of having our big Easter Dinner on Palm Sunday.  The grandchildren also hunt for their Easter baskets.  This year we had some dear friends visiting us from Kansas so that made 8 at the "big" table.

This is the one time each year that I use our wedding china.  Although I don't technically know if you can call it "wedding china"  if you didn't register for and receive it for your wedding.  We didn't register for anything for our wedding in the 70's.  {gasp ~ I know}  I don't think most of my friends did.  Dishes and things like that just weren't a big deal.  {big regret}
We did, however, take some of our wedding money and go to a store called LaBelle's.  This was a catalog store in Minnesota and they sold just about everything.  I think we got this china, 12 - 7 piece place settings for around $125 or something like that.  I seem to remember getting golf clubs there too.  How's that for a one stop shop?

It's pretty china with light green flowers, but never really ME.  But it looks so pretty at Easter.

The grandchildren were sitting to the side.  I did give them silverware, this was a shot before we were all there I guess.  It seems to me that they also had a daffodil centerpiece.

Kids and grands

The whole family.  And, no, Bob did not wear that get up to church.  He just did a quick change out of his suit before pictures.  It's hot in Texas!

Baskets have been found and they are busy checking out their loot.  I don't put much candy in the baskets, just a lot of junk.  The big hits for the boys this year were the parachute men.  They spent a good deal of time hurtling them off the stairs.

One thing the baskets always contain is silly string.

It was a beautiful day.

What a beautiful family! Sounds like you had a real nice Easter. Love both of the table settings...the kids and the adults table each looked so nice!
Hope you have a real nice weekend!

Looks like such fun! Been worrying about you but I'm sure you, like me, are very busy these beautiful spring days. Enjoy your weekend, especially if it includes babies!

What a great idea. The Palm Sunday celebration. I might have to steal that one from you. I love your daughter having fun with the silly string. Your china is perfect for Easter. My Mom made me register for stuff and I am so glad she did. I made sure my daughter's did too.

Happy Belated Easter! I think your china is beautiful. In fact, I'm almost positive that I saw that pattern or one close to it in one of my favorite vintage shops recently. I know because I wanted to buy some, but I exercised self control. Your table is beautiful.

Some day, I'm going to have grandkids and get to set a fun kids' table, too. (God willing...and I hope He's willing.)

Love the silly string. I have a hunch the big boys enjoy it as much if not more than the little ones.

Men. They are forever boys. Aren't we glad?
